Search engines provide essential access to the Web, both to those with something to say and offer and to those who wish to hear and find. Below I have collected and put some popular search engine's URLs. Basically there are two main types of search engines. Search engines such as Alta Vista, Lycos, and Hotbot using spiders, also referred to as robots or softbots, harvest URLs automatically to display them in our Web browsers according to their ratings. The other one is called directory-based search engines, such as Yahoo and AliWeb. These editors gather and index the URLs manually according to keywords. Usually Web masters and Web page designers manually submit the vast majority of indexed pages to the search engine's editors for inclusion. These efforts are usually augmented by some form of automatic harvesting.
