Book Description
The   digital   twin   idea   acquires   special   significance   due   to   the   following aspects: 1. The faster proliferation of IoT devices in our personal and professional  environments 2. The deeper and extreme connectivity and integration scenarios such as device-to-device                (D2D) and device-to-cloud (D2C) integration, etc. 3. As IoT devices connect and collaborate, the result is the big data 4. Data lakes are being formed and sustained in cloud environments 5. The faster maturity of fog /edge computing phenomenon 6. The rising competencies in big, fast, streaming and IoT data analytics 7. The adoption of the machine and deep learning algorithms to unearth hidden patterns in                       data volumes 8. The knowledge discovery and dissemination process get steadily automated to loop back                      the acquired insights to our everyday devices, machines, equipment, robots, drones,                       instruments, etc.

The concept of digital twin is trending the core of industrial revolution which leads to unlimited scope for research that is not limited to engineering and manufacturing technologies alone. Digital twin unfolds the possibility of creating self, surroundings and situation-aware systems, which, in later times, manage to optimize the performance by itself, communicates and coordinates with other components, synchronizes and diagnosis any anomalies caused with minimal manual interferences. We want to tell the world what is the digital twin paradigm, how it is going to be a game-changer technology for businesses, how it can be used across various industry verticals, the future, etc. Also, the research aspects of this new concept will be vividly illustrated in this book. The current challenges and concerns will be expressed in detail in order to influence and incite prospective researchers to bring forth competent solutions.
